From the Pastor's desk:
I recently had a conversation with a father who expressed his concern for his son and daughter-in-law because of the situation with North Korea. His son and daughter-in-law are both in the army and stationed in South Korea. I tried to explain to him that it is a sign of the time as one man tries to force his personal agenda on others.
As Jesus neared the end of His earthly ministry, He told His followers, “ Don't let anyone mislead you. For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Messiah.' They will lead many astray. And wars will break out near and far, but don't panic. Yes, these things must come, but the end won't follow immediately. The nations and kingdoms will proclaim war against each other, and there will be famines and earthquakes in many parts of the world. But all this will be only the beginning of the horrors to come. Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because of your allegiance to me. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will lead many people astray. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But those who endure to the end will be saved. ” Matthew 24:4-14 NLT.
Jesus continued to warn them. Following the parable of the Ten Virgins, He instructed “ keep watch ” NIV, “ stay awake and be prepared ” NLT, “ because you do not know the day or the hour ” (Matthew 25:13) when Jesus will return.
Are you ready for the Lord to return? The signs of the time are everywhere. I don ’ t know when but I do know we all need to be ready.
Lord empower us with the Holy Spirit to be “ overcomers ” for You. Help us to shine the “ Light of the World ” all around.
Where will you be found when He separates the sheep from the goats? Are you on track for eternal punishment or eternal life?
