Greetings from Calvary Assembly of God located in rural western Pennsylvania half way between Bessemer and Hillsville. Calvary is a full Gospel church that proclaims a full Gospel message. As Paul wrote, “Let all things be done decently and in order. ” (1 Corinthians 14:40 NKJV), every effort is made to pattern services after the New Testament examples with “decency and order” but not so rigidly as to quench the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Calvary has a vision to reach people with the Gospel message. It is our prayer that with help and anointing of the Holy Spirit, we fulfill the command of Jesus to “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV).

You are invited to join us for service as we worship the Lord, Jesus Christ.

From the Pastor's desk:

Are you a child of God? Many in this world claim to be Christians, that is followers of Christ. However, they don ’ t live up to their name. God ’ s Word is clear, we don ’ t have to measure up to man ’ s expectations or standards; but we will be judged by God ’ s standard. The Lord set a standard for the children of Israel in which He said, “ So set yourselves apart to be holy, for I, the LORD, am your God. Keep all my laws and obey them, for I am the LORD, who makes you holy. ” Leviticus 20:7-8 NLT. The standard has not changed since Jesus came. Yes, we live under grace but Peter wrote, “ Obey God because you are his children. Don't slip back into your old ways of doing evil; you didn't know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you to be his children is holy. For he himself has said, "You must be holy because I am holy. ” 1 Peter 1:14-16 NLT.

Jesus taught that we are to be obedient and faithful. When He prayed in John 17, He said that we are not of the world but we are in the world. Jesus prayed as He sent us into the world that we might be kept from the grip of the evil one. Jesus declared, “ for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth. ” John 17:19 NKJV. We need to be in the Word and pray daily that God would help us to influence our world for Jesus and not be influenced by the world.
